Maldives Futsal Team Greeted with Grand Celebration After SAFF Win

The Maldives National Futsal Team was given a warm welcome upon returning to Malé after capturing the championship title at the inaugural SAFF Futsal Championship, completing the tournament with a flawless 100 percent winning record.
The victorious team arrived at Velana International Airport last night, where they were officially received at the VIP lounge by Minister of Sports, Fitness and Recreation Abdulla Rafiu, along with Football Association of Maldives (FAM) President Ahmed Thariq. Family members of the players were also present to share in the moment during the airport reception.
Following the welcome ceremony, the team traveled by bus to the Social Centre before setting off on a celebratory parade to the Artificial Beach aboard a decorated truck, drawing cheers from supporters along the route.
A large celebration was later held at the Artificial Beach, where a huge crowd gathered to honor the national side. Players and officials were escorted along a red carpet to a specially prepared stage for the main ceremony.
The celebrations concluded with a dazzling fireworks display, followed by a fan interaction session where supporters posed for photographs with the players and officials.
The Maldives clinched the title at the first ever SAFF Futsal Championship, organized by the South Asian Football Federation, by winning every match they played in the competition marking a historic achievement for Maldivian futsal.
